Striking Peacock inspired Wildflowers for Fiona & Mark at the Ballymac Hotel

I am so excited to share these stunning documentary style images by Dylan McBurney Photography that capture some of the special moments of Fiona & Mark’s real wedding Sat 4th Feb 2017. Fiona wanted to mix dramatic peacock feathers with wildflowers and spring tulips for something a little different to the norm…a fantastic creative brief for Ditsy Floral Design. Fiona wore a beautiful dress from Petticoat Lane Bridal and the bridesmaids in teal wore stunning hand crafted headpieces and capes by Lorsha Design. The girls all looked stunning with makeup by Stacey at S.A.K Designs. The reception was held in the Ballymacscanlon House Hotel, Dundalk. Enjoy x

Café au Lait Dahlia steals the show at this Real Irish Summer Wedding

Nicola & Christopher celebrated their wedding last August in St Patrick’s Hilltown followed by a reception in the Hillgrove Hotel, Monaghan. The flowers were shades of pastel pink, blush and blue to contrast and tone with the soft blue bridesmaid dresses. Nicola just fell in love with the stunning Café au Lait dahlia when she came for her consultation and with dahlias in season late summer and early autumn it was the perfect choice for an August wedding. Nicola’s dress featured a stunning beaded bodice giving a hint of glamour and decadence. The boys wore blue nigella with a blush spray rose! It was an absolute pleasure to be involved in this gorgeous wedding and these beautiful memories were captured by Catherine McAviney Photography. Thank you for choosing Ditsy Floral Design – Wedding Florist x

Shades of Lavender for a Real September Bride

Rebecca and Daniel were married on a lovely September day last year in Annaclone Presbyterian Church and the celebrations continued by the sea at Ballygally Castle Hotel. The bridesmaids wore a deep lavender 50s style dress with full tulle skirt from Perfect Day and we chose gorgeous shades of lilac, lavender and pink with pretty snowberries for the flowers. Bouquets of sweet dolomiti and memory lane roses, lisianthus, scabious, waxflower, phlox, limonium, astrantia, snowberries and eucalyptus in a ‘just picked’ garden style for the girls. The boys wore rustic buttonholes of snowberries with lisianthus buds, astrantia, wax flower and foliage…who says the boys have to wear flowers?! TC Photography NI are responsible for the gorgeous memories of this special day, thanks so much for sharing guys.

2016 Best Bits

2016 saw me celebrating my 3rd wedding season and really developing my love of wild and natural wedding flowers with a vintage vibe. It was a riot of colour, beautiful blooms and hard work! Here is just a snap shot of what I got up to.

I cannot help but look forward to everything 2017 throws my way. Seriously love my job lol! Thanks for being and continuing to be part of this wonderful floral journey.  Elaine xx

Real Winter Wildflower Wedding

Rich red tones with winter wildflower styling, blue thistles and calla lilies. Laura & Mark are celebrating their first anniversary today and I thought it was the perfect excuse to share some beautiful memories from their winter wedding.

They were married in Edenderry Presbyterian Church, Portadown followed by an intimate reception in the Tullylagan House Hotel. Laura loves calla lilies and wanted to incorporate them with a loose and natural wildflower style posy with blue thistles and berries.

These beautiful images were taken by Caroline Smyth Photography. Happy anniversary guys xx

A Dutch Inspired Real Irish Wedding

Denise married Stephen on the 14 April 2016 with a truly Spring inspired wedding. Having spent some time living in Amsterdam Denise knew the only flowers she could consider for her Spring bouquet were Tulips and I was delighted to oblige as they are my favourite spring flower! The service was held in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Cloghoge, Newry where pretty Cherry Blossom trees adorned the church doors. The church was even celebrating an anniversary, a centenary I think, and they had decked the outside with bunting which was a perfect match for the vintage VW Camper Van which delivered the ladies in style. They continued their celebrations in Ballymagarvey Village. These beautiful professional photos taken by Paula O’Hara Photography tell their story without the need for any more words. Thanks for letting me be part of your special day xx.

Quirky Vintage Wildflowers for an August Wedding

Julie and Shawn are celebrating their #oneyear anniversary today and I just had to share some happy memories of their bright and beautiful wedding day.12042896_480469482078368_9081309714319031813_n

They were married in the pretty little chapel in Magheralin and celebrated at Hugh McCann’s, Newcastle afterwards. The bridal bouquets were wildflower styled with a clash of bright summer colours, blue delphiniums, thistles, veronica, coral Miss Piggy roses, mini daisies and wax flower.

Julie hand-crafted the most beautiful jam jars for posy jars and these were placed on a pile of vintage style books to create a quirky table centre décor in the venue. My chalkboard ‘Mr & Mrs’ crate and Old School ‘Pick a Seat Not a Side’ Chalkboard complimented the quirky vintage theme. The professional photos were taken by Joanne Kearney Photography. Happy anniversary guys xx

Wild & Romantic Wedding at Ballydugan Mill

Sarah married her German beau Markus with a beautiful church service in Magheralin Parish Church and celebrated with a rustic hessian and lace styled reception in the gorgeous Ballydugan Mill, Downpatrick on the 20 Aug 2015.

Sarah’s wild and romantic bouquet contained vendella and bombastic roses, pink lisianthus, phlox, astilbe, astrantia, garden dahlias and seeded eucalyptus foliage. 13978155_10157288862120113_411829042_o

The venue décor included my authentic vintage ladder, vintage pitcher jugs, rustic wooden crates and jam jar pew ends. The tables were decorated with hessian and lace doilies and the jam jar posies re-used from the church.

The beautiful photos are by Amy, Retrosight Photography. Sarah thank you for sharing these beautiful memories of your day and have a great a first anniversary x

Darver Wedding with Summer Wildflowers

Elaine and Steve tied the knot in the little Parish Church in Darver, Co Louth on a gorgeous summer day last August. The celebrations continued across the road in beautiful Darver Castle. The bridesmaids wore short vintage style dresses in blue/teal and we picked a strong pop of raspberry to contrast with the teal and styled the flowers on natural and wild summer wildflowers. The bouquets contained raspberry spray roses, lisianthus, scented stocks, blue nigella, baby’s breath and locally grown eucalyptus.  The Groom loves superheros, so a quirky twist was the addition of the gorgeous little lego superheros to the buttonholes. The bride sourced these on Ebay!

Happy first anniversary guys and thanks so much for sharing your beautiful photos by the very talented Peter Thomas Photography with me. Fab memories! x

Brownlow House Wedding Flowers for an August Bride

The wedding of Grace and Tom Light took place on the 7th August 2015 in Scarva Street Presbyterian Church, Banbridge with a reception in the fabulous surrounds of Brownlow House, Lurgan. Grace first contacted me after a recommendation from Laura in Ladybelle Bridal and I knew immediately her deep aubergine purple bridesmaid dresses with a dusky lilac belt were going to allow me to incorporate some of my gorgeous home grown purple pom pom dahlias and my favourite memory lane roses. Here’s what I created for Grace and Tom.

Photography by Grace’s uncle Tommy Fairley.

Happy first anniversary guys and thanks for sharing your special memories!
